Tony's MACH RUNS

Two of Pak4 Arrive at JFK

Some of you are aware that Helping Udders' supporters have been involved in helping K9Soldiers rescue 4 American-born and trained Military Working Dogs that were abandoned in Pakistan by the Pakistani government.

The great news is that 2 of the 4 dogs arrived at JFK yesterday and were picked up by reps of K9Soldiers. They are being cared for a vetted as we speak. The remaining MWDs are expected home soon.

This great news comes after several false starts, renegotiations with officials, disappointments, and delays. Big kudos to the determination of JT Gabriel, the Director of K9Soldiers for not giving up on these dogs.

JT wants you all to know that this wouldn't have been possible without all the donations that came from Helping Udders supporters. For more info: visit www.k9soldiers.org

MACH Tony

Lawrence, KS. On Saturday January 23rd, 2010, Tony Let-Me-At-'Em Miller joined the ranks of elite agility dogs by attaining his Master Agility Champion (MACH) title. He and his mom, Mikel Miller, accomplished this already difficult task by running 2 perfect runs that day. Tony's runs were awe-inspiring and beautiful, as he moved with grace and aplomb amongst the obstacles, following his mom's handling cues. Mikel's confidence and self-assurance was inspiring to all handlers present especially the novice handlers. She didn't appear to be nervous or overwhelmed by all of the attention at all. At least not until the loud applause and whistles broke out as now-MACH Tony cleared his last jump. They were met at the gate by well-wishers, friends, and training partners eager to give treats, hugs, pats and share a few tears of joy. Then as if that wasn't enough, MACH Tony and Mikel concluded Sunday with a Triple Q including a first place in the Excellent Fast run.
